The City of Oronogo is hiring a full time Utility Collector. Duties will include but are not limited to: Maintenance of utility billing records for the City’s water, sewer, and trash utilities. Processes late penalties and shut-off of accounts. Receives utility payments and deposits, balance cash drawer at end of shift. Create new utility accounts for subdivisions/ houses. Opens & closes accounts based on requests for service forms. Assists with providing friendly professional reception service for City Hall by answering telephones, greeting the public at the counter, receiving, and distributing faxes and communicating needs to the Public Works Department. Produces letters, memoranda, reports, tabulations, and other information as requested. Maintenance of utility accounts: commercial, residential, landlord, outside city limits, etc. Fulfills any utility requests for records. Assists with preparation of City-wide garage sale map. Assists with maintaining animal & business licenses. Other duties as assigned by City Clerk. Must be able to use computer assisted programs and type at least 30 wpm. Pre-employment drug screens and random drug screens are required. Must successfully pass a background check. Starting wage is $16.00 an hour with paid health insurance, retirement, sick leave and vacation.
